***IMPORTANT...IMPORTANT***
We received notice from Kroger that current paricipants in the Kroger Community Rewards Program need to re-enroll in April in order to continue earning funds for their students accounts. This is different from years past so please make sure you do this beginning April 1st. This will be done every April thereafter. Please see the information below:
All current participants must re-enroll for the program in order to earn funds for your group during 2010.
Even if you have members who sign up for Kroger Community Rewards in February or March 2010 which will earn your organization funds as part of the 2009 program - they must sign up again beginning April 1, 2010 to continue earning rewards during the coming year.
It's easy for your members to enroll or re-enroll in Kroger Community Rewards. They can visit www.krogercommunityrewards.com, click on "Ohio" to sign up for a Kroger.com account or click on "Already enrolled? Sign In" if they already have an account. All participants must have a valid online account at Kroger.com to participate.
While we encourage your members to sign up for Kroger Community Rewards in April, they can actually sign up any time thereafter. Early enrollment, however, will help your group grow its rewards immediately.
If you have any questions concerning this information, please contact Laura Beard president@lancerband.net.
Thank you!
Dear parents
We wanted to make you aware of the band fundraiser that is currently going on. Monday, Tupperware packets were distributed to the students. All orders and money need to be turned in by February 5th. Delivery date is February 23rd. The group will earn 40% of product sales before tax.
Any student selling $150-$250 will receive a coupon for a free personal size pizza. Anyone selling over $250 will receive their choice of the Thirstquake Tumblers found on the last page of the catalog.
If you didn’t see the packet, there are still packets available in the band room. Please see Miss Houck or Mr. Will.
Special Announcement from the Band Boosters:
I am sure by now you have all heard about the Lakewood Levy. It is so important that we work together to get this levy passed in May. Because of the failure of the levy in November, the school has to cut $1 million and these are permanent cuts. That means, they will not come back, even if the levy passes in May. This is a very sad situation for our school. The scarier part of all of this, if the levy doesn’t pass, another $4.4 million will be cut. THIS IS A FACT. Those kinds of cuts will devastate our school, our kids, our community, including your property values. Our kids are rallying and have already made progress to draw attention to the levy. I am so very proud of them and their passion to get this levy passed. It goes without saying, we have a great group of kids and thank you for your part in this. As proud parents, let’s rally with our kids and show our support for what they our working so hard to accomplish and help them. A Great way you can show your support: Please come to the Community Meeting on February 4th at 6:30pm. Please spread the word.
Thank you!
Laura Beard, President
Lakewood Band Boosters
Dear Parents,
Now that we’ve had a little bit of time to adjust to the new Kroger Plus Card, I just wanted to give you some information concerning how the credits work.
We hope to get 5% of our spending, but that may not always be the case. The percentage is based on what all the organizations collectively spend. Please see below:
Question: How much can my organization earn?
Answer: Kroger will pay up to $1,250,000 on a quarterly basis to participating organizations based on their percentage of spending as it relates to the total spending of all participating Kroger Community Rewards organizations.
• Kroger limits its quarterly contributions to a maximum contribution of $1,250,000 to be distributed among all participating eligible organizations.
• Kroger limits a participating organization’s earned rewards to a maximum of $50,000 quarterly.
• Kroger limits a participating household’s earned rewards to a maximum of $300 quarterly.
• The minimum quarterly reward payout is $25 per organization. In the event that an organization earns less than $25 in a quarter, Kroger will hold the amount until the next quarter that the reward exceeds $25 or until the end of the program term, whichever comes first.
• Your quarterly rewards check will be mailed or personally delivered to your organization by a Kroger representative within one month of the close of each quarterly cycle.
Below are things that are not eligible to earn credit:
Alcohol, tobacco, government-assisted pharmacy expenses, postage stamps, Kroger gift cards and Green Dot Prepaid Cards, gift certificates, bottle deposits, lottery and promotional tickets, fuel, fuel center purchases, office services and sales tax. Eligible pharmacy purchases include out-of-pocket co-pays for non-government-assisted pharmacy programs.
If you have any questions, please contact Laura Beard, President, at president@lancerband.net or Julie Jones, Ways and Means Chair, at Krogercards@lancerband.net.
Thank you!
Laura Beard, President
Lakewood Band Boosters

If we get our Kroger statements and we are unable to match the numbers with a student, those credits will go into the uniform account. Thank you!

Donut Booth Training: If you have never worked in the donut booth, or want a refresher course on how to make Lancer Band donuts, come to the booth at the festival grounds on Monday, August 25th at 6:30 p.m. for a training class. We will go over how to mix dough, how to fry, how to ice the donuts, and how to apply the powder sugar and cinnamon.
7-24-2008: The Sweet Corn Festival is fast approaching and the Band Boosters need your help. Starting Monday, July 28th, we will have Sweet Corn Festival raffle tickets for sale. We are asking each student to sell at least 3 packets. 50% of what they sell will go into the Uniform Account to help purchase new uniforms/overlays. Did you know that our uniforms are over 20 years old? The Uniform Committee has done a FANTASTIC job maintaining our uniforms by patching, sewing, cleaning and pressing. But, even with all of that, they are wearing out and it's getting harder and harder to fix them. Please help support YOUR band so they can continue to look their very best.
5-30-2008 Class reps are needed for 6th grade up to 12th grade. Please contact Laura Beard president@lancerband.net if you're interested.
CONGRATULATIONS to the new slate of band booster officers for the 2008-2009 school year!!
